Her role as Chair (President) of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) from 2021 to 2024 is a significant example of her cultural leadership. As Chair, she served as a cultural anchor by providing performance opportunities for the Great Black Music Ensemble. As part of her community engagement and collaboration efforts, she strengthened relationships locally, nationally, and internationally. She is known for catalyzing cross-cultural artistic collaborations such as with Tania Leon’s Dialogues of Composers Now, the American Composers Forum, Ensemble Dal Niente, the Grossman Ensemble, and the Old Town School of Folk Music. She also co-produced significant concerts for the AACM, including the AACM’s 55th Anniversary concert and the "AACM: Ancient to the Future" concert featured at Carnegie Hall’s Afrofuturism Festival. This involved producing large-scale events and commissioning new compositions. Her public speaking skills are evident in her experience giving University Lectures & Masterclasses. She has lectured on topics such as Creative Music and Afrofuturism at institutions like the University of Paris and the University of Illinois at Champaign, Urbana, among others.
She secured new grant resources, achieving a remarkable 586% budget increase in one year and a 757.14% increase in four years. She also led and supported AACM's artistic and educational programs and fostered strategic partnerships.
A visionary social media strategist who transforms storytelling into engaging content. With a pulse on trends and a deep understanding of creative ecosystems, she crafts magnetic content that drives engagement, builds authentic communities, and amplifies mission-driven brands, from grassroots campaigns to legacy institutions.
As a curriculum architect who seamlessly blends arts, culture, and community into transformative learning experiences. With over 25 years of expertise, she designs interdisciplinary programs that center creative genius, amplify creative expression, and support neurodivergent and multi-genre learners. Whether in classrooms, workshops, or digital spaces, her curricula are rooted in liberation pedagogy — where imagination fuels learning.
Coco Elysses' involvement as a mentor in the Mutual Mentorship for Women program and as a mentor in the Symphonic Distribution Women Empowered + Mentorship Program also highlights her leadership and communication skills in supporting and empowering other artists.
As a Speech & Acting Instructor and Junior House Lead Teacher at The Betty Shabazz International Charter School, she instructed students, led teachers, advised students, and directed personnel. As the Education and Community Coordinator at the Jazz Institute of Chicago, she coordinated educational and mentorship programs, demonstrating leadership in arts education eco systems and community engagement.

Designed to support neurodivergent learners and to address a critical gap in music education. We support students who learn differently by combining sensory, creative, and flexible approaches to learning.
Color, sound, movement, and visual patterns help students feel and understand concepts naturally.
Building on how learners associate ideas across senses, making learning intuitive and memorable.
Visual, auditory, and hands-on entry points so every student can access learning their own way.
Connecting ear/instinct learners to traditional methods like notation and theory.
Simple, flexible resources for classrooms, lessons, or home.
Students demonstrate understanding in different ways, not just standard formats.
"Because when we match how students learn — engagement, confidence, and understanding follow."

Inspired by the Oromo people of Ethiopia.

Elythia™, a collection of artwork that is more than just a visual experience. It is a testament to the power of art to transcend time, provoke thought, and inspire action. As an artist with deep roots in multidimensional expression, I created Elythia™ to speak to the harmony between creativity and consciousness, a harmony that I believe belongs in the spaces where creativity thrives—music studios, bars, homes, restaurants, and offices.
Elythiaâ„¢ was born out of a commitment to create art that is both environmentally conscious and timeless. Each piece in the collection is crafted with sustainable materials and methods, embodying a dedication to preserving the very beauty and vitality that nature bestows upon us. This approach not only reflects a respect for the planet but also ensures that the art remains vibrant and relevant across generations, much like the great works that have come before it.
Imagine stepping into a music studio where the energy of the room is amplified by artwork that breathes rhythm and melody through its strokes and colors. Picture a bar or restaurant where patrons are drawn into an atmosphere of storytelling and connection, sparked by pieces that evoke both emotion and conversation. Envision an office space where creativity is not just encouraged but embedded in the very walls, inspiring innovative thought and a deep sense of purpose.
Elythia™ is designed to be more than décor; it is an experience that enriches the environment, creating a sense of place that feels alive, dynamic, and ever-evolving. Each piece has a story—a narrative that invites viewers to engage, to feel, to question, and ultimately, to connect with their own inner creativity and consciousness.
I invite you to bring Elythiaâ„¢ into your spaces and witness firsthand the transformation that happens when art with a soul meets environments that are destined for greatness. Let's create spaces that not only look beautiful but resonate with meaning and purpose.
Thank you for considering Elythiaâ„¢ as a powerful addition to your environment. I would love to explore how we can work together to bring this vision to life.
With creativity and purpose,
Coco Elysses
Artist, Visionary, and Founder of Elythiaâ„¢

Coco Elysses is an award-winning multi-genre artist, creative strategist, and cultural healer whose work bridges the sacred and the revolutionary. A percussionist, composer, screenwriter, educator, and voice of divine storytelling, she moves between worlds—activating ancestral memory while shaping future realities.

Briah Sheps Maat is a multidimensional griot, channeled through the ancestral memory of stars and soil. Born of Jupiter’s thunderous breath and Kemet’s sacred Nile, she speaks in the frequencies of forgotten empires and celestial archives. A time-bending storyteller, she carries the codes of Maat—truth, justice, balance, and cosmic order—delivered through creativity.

Sutcha-Eamah threads galaxies into garments and paints visions into fabric. Her work is not worn—it's summoned. She stands where ancestral elegance meets future form:
A designer, a root woman, a living altar of art.
